Why I Started the Mindful Living Project in Bhutan

I am 34 years old. For 9 years, I was caught up in the pursuit of material success. Like so many others, I found myself running in the rat race, pushing through long hours, and constantly striving to achieve more. On the outside, everything seemed perfect but deep down, I knew something was missing. Personal fulfilment felt like an unreachable goal, always just beyond my grasp. My days were consumed by work, leaving little room for self-care or reflection. The stress and pressure built up, and I realized I had no time for myself.

It wasn’t until I decided to step away from this exhausting cycle that I discovered what had been missing: the power of mindful living. I began to explore yoga and meditation practices that brought me back to myself, helping me restore not just my physical well-being, but my mental and emotional health as well. What I learned is that you don’t necessarily need to go outside for such practices; whatever we are searching for already lies within us. While I still lead a hectic life and struggle to slow down, I make time to find pockets of silence and that has made all the difference. This journey helped me, but I soon realized I wanted to create a space where others could experience the same transformation. A place with nourishing conditions where they could dig deeper, reconnect with their inner selves, and find the clarity and peace that already exist within.

This realization led me to create Mindful Living Bhutan — a place where I could share this gift of mindfulness with others. It’s my mission now to help people like you find the same sense of balance, fulfilment, and restoration that I found.
